SöderS annual meeting

SöderS is a non-profit association organisation, which means that it is the members who hold the power over us. SöderS holds two årsmöten meetings – the autumn and spring general meetings – to which members are invited to make decisions regarding our finances, operation and elected representatives. As a student union, members’ influence over the organisation is also regulated by the Higher Education Act and the Student Union Regulations.

Regarding the spring meeting

At the spring meeting, decisions are taken regarding the coming verksamhet year. At the spring meeting, decisions on the verksamhet plan, financial framework and organisational structure are to be adopted. Elections to positions of trust are to be held at the spring meeting. The spring meeting shall take place in May each year, following a decision by the board.

At every spring meeting, the following items shall be addressed:

  1. Closing of the meeting
  2. Opening of the meeting
  3. Compilation of the electoral register
  4. Approval of the agenda
  5. Question regarding årsmötet’s quorum
  6. Election of meeting chair
  7. Election of meeting secretary
  8. Election of meeting checker and vote counter
  9. Adoption of årsmötet’s Rules of Procedure
  10. Processing of submitted motions and private members' bills
  11. Setting the membership fee for the coming verksamhet year
  12. Election of the nomination committee
  13. Appointment of verksamhet’s auditor and authorised public accountant
  14. Determination of the size of the board of directors
  15. Election of the board

Regarding the autumn meeting

At the autumn meeting, decisions are taken regarding the past verksamhet financial year. The autumn meeting is to take place in November each year, following a decision by the board.

At every autumn meeting, the following items shall be addressed:

  1. Opening of the meeting
  2. Compilation of the electoral register
  3. Approval of the agenda
  4. Question regarding årsmötet’s quorum
  5. Election of meeting chair
  6. Election of meeting secretary
  7. Election of meeting checker and vote counter
  8. Adoption of årsmötet’s Rules of Procedure
  9. Processing of submitted motions and private members' bills
  10. Adoption of the verksamhets and the auditor’s report
  11. Question of discharge from liability for the board
  12. Closing of the meeting

Members of the Students’ Union are hereby invited to this spring’s annual meeting!

Time and place

The spring meeting will take place on 28 May in the union building (SöderS Pub) at 17:00.

At the spring meeting, members approve the operation and the budget for the coming year, and appoint students to positions of trust within the student union.

Registration for the annual meeting is not compulsory, but it helps us with our planning, including the venue and catering.

Årsmötet will be held in Swedish, but there will be scope for some adaptation by having the the annual meeting documents translated into English.
