Is your association group organising an activity? We've got your back!
Social life at university is a central part of förening’s mission. You want to help enrich your members’ student lives and organise activities that provide opportunities for socialising and celebrating, offer exciting insights and perhaps bring them closer to the job market.
The SöderS office can also assist with support and tips on what you need to consider when planning an event. The following are good starting points:
- What is the purpose of the event and who is the target audience?
- Create a clear division of responsibilities for tasks before and during the event
- Produce a schedule for when the various parts of the planning are to be completed
- Think carefully about how you are going to communicate and market the event
- Book the desired venue well in advance (if you are booking the pub: book a meeting with the event manager and official in charge for a review of important details)
- Organise something you would actually want to go to!
Planning and event support
SöderS has produced concrete guidelines to be applied during the planning and implementation of events. These guidelines exist to ensure that events held in SöderS premises or in the name of SöderS are inclusive and safe.
Book venues
SöderS offers all its membersföreningar the opportunity to book the union’s various venues, as well as venues at the university, free of charge (08:00–18:00). Bookings are made via the SöderS website.
Booking rules are also stated there, but it may be good to know that alcohol may not be served or consumed in any room other than the pub.
Meetings and templates
As association, you are involved in both formal and informal contexts. Consider how they are used today and what you could do to distribute decision-making processes effectively.
Formal meetings
Annual general meeting
The Årsmötet is the members’ meeting and holds the greatest power and influence over a association. Among other things, the Årsmötet is responsible for deciding on the operation of the association and who will run the association over the coming year.
Board meeting
The Executive Committee is responsible for the association between annual general meetings. During the year, the Executive Committee may, for example, take decisions on various projects, appoint project groups and prepare proposals for members to be put forward at the the annual meeting.
Informal meetings
SöderS offers all its membersföreningar the opportunity to book the union’s various venues, as well as venues at the university, free of charge (08:00–18:00). Bookings are made via the SöderS website.
Booking rules are also stated there, but it may be good to know that alcohol may not be served or consumed in any room other than the pub.

Eventoteket
An event library for SöderS student associations and operations!
Eventoteket is designed to provide free event materials for SöderS’s associations and operations groups. This helps us reduce our use of resources whilst easing the financial burden on associations groups and making it easier for more people to organise events. To borrow materials, your association must have accepted the Event Library’s terms and conditions.
Here’s how simple Eventoteket is to use:
1. Read through the terms and conditions and complete a loan application form
2. Pack the items you wish to borrow into a loan box
3. Hold your event, then return it!
This can be found in the Event Library
