Terms and conditions
When purchasing second-hand course literature, the student pays the seller directly. Payment is made via Swish. Recipient details are provided by the bookshop at the time of purchase. Confirmation of payment must be shown upon completion of the purchase. Books are bought as seen. No right of return applies.
Purchases of other products in the bookshop can be paid for with a bank card.
Terms of sale
Returning of books
Textbooks are handed in to the bookshop on site using the designated form. When handing in books, the seller must provide their first name and surname, telephone number and email address, as well as details of the books being handed in. The seller sets the price of the books themselves. However, these must not exceed 80 % of the original price.
SöderS does not accept fiction unless it is literature included in university courses. SöderS reserves the right to refuse, for example, damaged, poorly maintained or outdated literature.
Agency fee
The handling fee is £20 per submitted book for members of the student union. For non-members, the handling fee is £40 per submitted book. A greater discount applies the more books are submitted. The handling fee is paid on site when submitting books.
Sales
Sales of course literature are handled through commission sales. This means that the seller owns their books until they are sold. The seller can choose to reclaim their literature at any time before a sale has taken place. The agency fee is non-refundable.
In the event of a lost book, SöderS is liable to reimburse the seller. Compensation is paid out according to the seller's pricing of the book.
In the event of no sale
If no sale has taken place one (1) year after submission, the seller may choose to collect their book or donate it to SöderS. If the seller fails to respond, the book shall become the property of SöderS. The deadline for no response is one (1) month.
