Now the student rights statistics for the 2025/26 academic year have been compiled and are presented in the latest edition of Student Rights Report!

SöderS’ student and PhD student ombud provide annual support and advice on study-related issues to hundreds of students at Södertörn University. During the 2025/26 academic year, a total of 110 student cases were received, which represents an increase of just over 20% compared to the previous year*.

Based on the compilation of individual student cases, we can see certain trends, including that twice as many students are seeking support regarding disciplinary matters. The largest category of individual student cases concerns examinations and dissatisfaction related to assessment. Other trends identified from the compilation are problems in the students' working environment, deficient handling of harassment and other victimisation. Based on these trends, we make a number of recommendations to the higher education institution to strengthen the quality of education and improve the students' working environment.

Examples of recommendations from SöderS to Södertörn University:
– Be clear about how assessment takes place and what criteria the assessment is based on.
– Acknowledge the issue of grading time as a priority work environment issue for both teachers and students.
– Evaluate and develop training initiatives and support resources for managers on discrimination issues.
