Another verksamhet year is drawing to a close, and it is time to look ahead to the next one. In this post, we have summarised the spring meeting, which took place on 28 May 2026, and its key points.
The SöderS verksamhet year runs from 1 July to 30 June. This means that we will shortly be entering a new verksamhet year with a new board of directors, a new verksamhet plan, and a number of changes that these will bring.
SöderS holds two annual meetings, one each term: the Autumn Meeting in November and the Spring Meeting in May. Årsmötet is the highest decision-making body, and all power lies with the members, who are entitled to vote on the motions and proposals put forward.
This year's spring meeting concluded after approximately 4 hours, following some exciting moments and discussions among the members. An extra special thank you goes to the meeting chair Giancarlo Valverde (SSCO) and secretary Alice Bergholtz (former Vice-Chair of the PhD Student Council), and to all the members who showed up and voted!
Matilda Good
Secretary General
It was a meeting with active participants, which reflects the fact that SöderS is an important player on campus when it comes to championing issues that are relevant to students. This ranges from lobbying the university to acting as a support function for associations.

New verksamhets Plan 2026/27
One of the motions passed at the the annual meeting meeting was SöderS’s verksamhet plan for the verksamhet year 2026/27. The verksamhet plan addresses strategic priorities, the financial framework and the organisational structure. Among the strategic priorities for 2026/27 are the following objectives:
- Strengthen the student union's visibility and relevance to students
- Create the long-term conditions for the organisation’s operation
- Develop partnerships and collaboration with external stakeholders
The operational plan can be read digitally and printed out. Read it via the link below!

New memberförening
We welcome our most recently elected member, förening – Törnspexet!
Törnspexet is a student society and a party organisation with subculture (campus culture) at Södertörn University. Anyone who is active in the student union has probably come across Törnspexet here and there; they are, in fact, an established group of highly committed students and have been running their operation for a while now.
Törnspexet is a association that is very keen to contribute to social student life on campus, and they welcome all students to get involved, regardless of their degree programme. Go, go!
New Board of Directors 2026/27
Just as we bid farewell to our current board at the annual meeting, we have also welcomed a new one! The board, which will take up its posts on 1 July 2026, is a group of students with broad and varied expertise gained from the union’s various branches. SöderS firmly believes that this board will be able to contribute significantly to the union’s operation and its development.
The Board of Directors 2026/27*
Alexander Alani Rosenqvist, Chair
Sara Nematulloh, Vice-Chair
Berat Kan, Member of Parliament
Tomas Törnblom Nilsson, member
Nea Junehall, Member
Johannes Wilhelmsson, member
Alaa Ibrahim Alkhlif, member
*As the annual meeting decided that the Board should consist of eight (8) members, including the Chair and Vice-Chair, a by-election will be required to fill the vacancies on the Board during the next verksamhet year.

New inspector and verksamhet auditor
As SöderS’s former inspector, Per Bohlin, has retired and stepped down from his post, the annual meeting has elected a new inspector – Hedda Söderlundh!
Hedda is a senior lecturer and researcher in Swedish at the university, and is also head of the university’s unit for the development of higher education pedagogy.
In addition to this, the annual meeting has also elected a new verksamhet auditor – Sofia Holmdahl. Sofia is the verksamhet Head at SUS (Stockholm University Student Union), and has long been a versatile and committed figure within the student union sector.
We are confident that both Hedda and Sofia will do a cracking job in their respective roles!
What happens now?
The Årsmötet’s decision will come into effect immediately once the current verksamhet year has ended, i.e. on 1 July 2026. The minutes of the annual general meeting will be published shortly. here. SöderS is really looking forward to starting work with the newly elected representatives, working towards new goals and visions. Keep an eye on our channels for updates on verksamheten in the coming weeks!
