About the role
As a student safety representative monitors and influences you in matters concerning students' study and working environment at the higher education institution. This can involve, among other things, influencing your physical working environment in teaching rooms. It can also mean influencing matters linked to the psychosocial working environment, such as course design, workload and group work.
In short, the assignment involves monitoring and participating in the working environment management at the department by:;
- be a student representative on the departmental board and take part in meetings
- part in risk and work environment walkthroughs carried out at departmental level and through SöderS
- gather feedback on the work environment from student representatives at the department
- attend meetings with the other student health and safety representatives approximately once a month
As a student health and safety representative, you will receive an introduction to the role and complete a digital work environment training course. SöderS offers an honorarium of SEK 1,000 per month. The role is expected to take approximately 10 hours a month.
SöderS considers it a particular merit if you have been involved as a student representative, have knowledge of the higher education sector and agency governance and/or have previous experience as a safety representative at another higher education institution or workplace. You need to have a good command of Swedish to be able to carry out the assignment.
