On 28 May, our members elected a new board for the 2026/27 financial year, who took up their positions on 1 July. Say hello to our new executive committee – our new chairperson and vice-chairperson – Sara Nematulloh and Alex Alani Rosenqvist!
Those who followed us during the last financial year perhaps recognise both Sara and Alexander; two passionate enthusiasts who have been very involved in student social life on campus. Sara is a former chairperson of the student association MSSH and has also worked as a student ambassador for the higher education institution. Alexander has a background of association involvement in SÖFRE, and is also a former board member of SöderS.
”It feels incredibly exciting to step into the role of chair of SöderS”, says Alexander. ”I look forward to continuing to strengthen the students” voice and, together, develop a vibrant and inclusive student life. Above all, I look forward to meeting all the students, hearing your thoughts and ideas, and of course having a great time together!"
We believe that both Sara and Alexander, together with the rest of the board, will have a positive and long-lasting impact on SöderS' influence and presence on campus. With a strong connection to student societies, and through the board also a strong connection to student representation. It is a diverse group that brings their own perspectives and experiences to their respective roles.

Best tip for someone who is a new student at Södertörn University?
S: Join SöderS, haha! University life is more fun when you’re surrounded by people who know exactly how it feels. I’ve made friends through SöderS student associations who mean the world to me.
A: Make the most of your student days! The absolute most fun thing you can do is get involved in student life!
What do you prefer to spend your free time on?
A: Enjoying student life and nature!
S: I love watching films and TV series. I've seen all the Marvel films and loads of American series. My absolute favourite series is Ted Lasso.
Where can you find the best food on campus?
A: Arom's pasta dishes! Good value, large portions and incredibly delicious!
S: Hard to choose. Arom's chocolate muffins are unbeatable, Prego has really good toast and Allé Elva has a strong vegetarian selection.
