Hello! My name is Hasty Faraedon, and I’m doing my work placement at SöderS this spring. I’m studying political science at Södertörn University and will be completing my bachelor’s degree this summer. My work placement at SöderS will focus on organisational development; a research project analysing the student union’s five operations areas, with a focus on improving and streamlining administrative work.

I have been involved in various student organisations since Year 8 of secondary school, including the youth council and association activities, and my interest in leadership and organisation has stayed with me ever since. Last year, I served as vice-chair of Södertörn’s United Economists (SÖFRE) – the university’s largest student organisation – and today I am also involved in the Swedish National Organisation of Economists (S.E.R.O.). 

My internship at SöderS lasts for ten weeks, and during that time I will be working closely with the organisation to map processes and draw up proposals on how administrative work can be developed and made more efficient. Above all, I look forward to contributing concrete improvements that can facilitate daily work within the union. It feels very rewarding to be able to combine my knowledge from political science with practical development work while gaining a deeper understanding of how organisations can be developed and made more efficient.
