The students have voted, and we have listened! SödersRunners is Association of the Year 2025!
On 17 December, SöderS held its first Föreningsgasque in several years. We thanked our dear associations and operations members for the past year, including by selecting the recipient of the award Association of the Year. The award is a revivified one; a merger of the previous awards Association of the Year and Rising Star of the Year. The aim of the merger is to more clearly include SöderS operations in the award, and to highlight that the substantial work involved in förenings and operational activities requires a great deal of commitment and significant investment.
The recipient Association of the Year is an association within the student union that has made a special impression on its members, the higher education institution and its students – and this year it is SödersRunners who have done just that! SödersRunners are still a ”young” association, but still managed to secure a majority of the students’ votes.
The jury's citation:
”As a newly established association group, SödersRunners has, in a short space of time, become a strong and inspiring part of student life. With a small but highly committed board, association has offered regular and open running sessions every Wednesday, come rain or shine, and has thus become a clear role model for other societies. Through its inclusive approach, SödersRunners has engaged both new students and exchange students and served as an important social hub. Associationen promotes students’ health and wellbeing, encourages engagement in student life and contributes to a more vibrant campus. Participation in various activities, such as the group’s joint participation in the Stadium Night Run, also demonstrates a strong commitment to collaboration and community spirit.
With its focus on cohesion, accessibility and student influence, SödersRunners deserves the Association of the Year 2025 award.
