...and welcome back to SöderS!
Those of you who have followed SöderS over the past verksamhet academic year will probably recognise Matilda Good, former verksamhet developer and now SöderS’s new General Secretary! SöderS is absolutely delighted and excited to have Matilda back at the secretariat. As well as having previous experience of our student union, she is also a former chair of the Umeå Student Union and has held positions of trust within SFS (Swedish National Union of Students).

Matilda completed her final day as a verksamhet developer at SöderS this summer, and has since been studying the history of ideas and European Union studies at Stockholm University. In addition, Matilda previously studied for a Bachelor’s degree in political science at Umeå University.
The Secretary-General acts as the Board’s secretary and as the link between the strategic Board and the Secretariat’s operational staff, and, in collaboration with the Chair, forms the Board’s operational unit. The role involves being responsible for the organisation’s day-to-day financial management, monitoring the student union’s operation, and providing administrative support to our associations as well as operational support to SöderS’s operation representatives. In other words, Matilda will be something of a linchpin within the student union.
