The Golden Griffin 2024 is SöderS' awards for educational excellence, where the university's students come together once a year to choose who they think is the university's best teacher. For 2024, Love Bohman, senior lecturer in sociology at the Department of Social Sciences, received Golden Griffin for their thorough and engaging academic and pedagogical work.
With the justification:
”With his great pedagogical ability, Love inspires, supports and engages wholeheartedly in students' learning. His skill in explaining difficult concepts in a clear and engaging way makes his teaching both educational and fun. Love creates a safe and inclusive environment where students dare to ask questions, while his humour and dedication make the teaching easy to absorb. His enthusiasm for sociology also inspires students to continue to deepen their knowledge of the subject.
For his dedication, pedagogical skill and ability to make students feel both seen and supported, Love Bohman is nominated to receive the 2024 Guldgripen award.”

Nomination 1
Love has created tricky but fun lectures and seminars throughout all our courses with an incredible enthusiasm and joy for the subject! Furthermore, he has supported us to a significantly greater extent than any other teacher throughout the entire education by writing long, detailed emails to do his absolute best to make us understand. Moreover, he has helped us with this even when he has not necessarily been responsible for the course.
Love is the teacher I was most sad to say goodbye to after the final lecture as he created a secure and fun environment.
Nomination 2
Throughout all the courses we've had him in, Love has been incredibly inspiring and helpful. A teacher who genuinely loves what he teaches, which is evident during every lecture and seminar. You can always dare to ask Love questions without feeling judged, and he always does his utmost to answer them in a way you can understand. Furthermore, he is very encouraging so that we all want to continue studying sociology and, with his humour, can make the studies a little less heavy.
Nomination 3
Nobody is as passionate about quantitative methods as Love, and it is contagious. He has an extraordinary desire to help and support, because he genuinely wants you to understand the beauty and greatness of quantitative methods. He inspires, he explains, he teaches, and he CARES like no other teacher I have had at Södertörn University in the nearly three years I've been here. Love truly deserves to win this award!
