After a long but exciting annual meeting on 21 May 2025, SöderS leaves room MA648 with a smile on their faces. Not only have the union members voted in a fantastic new executive committee – we have also approved our upcoming action plan, welcomed two new member associations, and we are very much looking forward to championing ”Students” Democratic Space’ as the next key issue in student politics!

Apart from that, it was really heart-warming to see so many members and student associations in attendance. SöderS is united and strong, and it is with optimism and curiosity that we look to the future.

A big thank you goes to the Nomination Committee for their thorough work and excellent selection of candidates for the SöderS Board. Special praise is also due to the members present who both stood as candidates and nominated themselves and others for roles on the Board and the Nomination Committee. Thank you also to all the meeting volunteers, the SöderS Board, and of course all the participants, for a successful and atmospheric annual meeting!

During the 2025/26 financial year, the chairperson will be remunerated on a full-time basis. This represents a new chapter for the student union, where the future chairperson (Adam Hemdan) will be present at SöderS full-time alongside the SöderS office. We believe this change will make the relationship between the board and members even closer and stronger.
