Through our members and membership fees, we ensure this. We pay the fees of student representatives, create and support community life and provide legal support in our office.

The Union Collection
You can buy our own study and student materials in our bookstore during opening hours. You can also pay on the website and pick up at the Student Union office during regular opening hours.
How long will you be studying?
As a student at Södertörn University, you can become a member for a semester, a year or for the entire period of study. We believe that continuity and simplicity should pay off - that's why it's slightly cheaper to become a member for longer periods.
A term
Membership for one semester: 125 SEK
Term membership is valid for the current term regardless of when you sign up. Term membership for the spring semester is valid until the fall semester.
One year
Membership for one year: 240 SEK
Full-year membership is valid for two semesters regardless of when you sign up. If you sign up for a full-year membership in the fall, the membership is valid for the academic year. The membership card is updated on a semester basis and is automatically updated when the new semester starts.
Three years or more
Membership for the whole study period: 500 SEK
A forever membership is valid for ten semesters regardless of when you take out the membership. If you stop studying at Södertörn University and hold a membership for the entire period of study, the membership is paused. If you return to study at Södertörn University, the membership is reactivated. A forever membership without an active study period is stored in our system for five (5) years before the data is deleted.
Supporting membership
Membership for one semester: 400 SEK
Supporting membership can be taken out by people who do not study at Södertörn University but who want to contribute to the student union's activities. Supporting membership does not provide any membership benefits. Supporting membership is taken out for one semester.

Housing
Stockholm Student Housing Foundation (SSSB) →
SSSB is the union members' own housing queue and offers student rooms, student apartments and student flats all over Stockholm. To be in the housing queue and be able to live with SSSB, you need to be a student and a union member in Stockholm.
Education and Student Involvement
In our second-hand bookshop you can save thousands on course literature and pass it on to the next batch of students via the student union. As a member of the Student Union, you get a discount on the brokerage fee when you return books to us.

By getting involved in your education, for example as a member of your program council or departmental committee, you will receive a fee for your work if you are a member of the student union.
Credit points for exchange studies →
Student activities and involvement in SöderS give extra points when students apply for exchange studies. Each student can be awarded a maximum of 30 points during their study period.
Campus and community life
As a member, you get a discount on all food and drinks in our student pub, SöderS Pub, when you show your membership card.
As a member of the Student Union, you and your fellow students can set up a student association for your course or area of interest and receive financial and organizational support from the Student Union.
Always cheaper entry
At all Student Union events, members receive a discount on participation and admission fees. However, most Student Union events are free for members.
Café Prego
Soup of the day for SEK 45 and new member offers every month. Café Prego is located on the 4th floor of the library.
Culture and entertainment
Zita is Stockholm's oldest operating movie theater and as a member you always get a 60% discount on movie tickets when you show your membership card at the box office. Zita is located at Birger Jarlsgatan 37 in Östermalm.
20% discount on student membership of the Stockholm Film Festival. The membership gives you, among other things, discounted movie tickets and free previews. Discount code will be sent to members via e-mail. Valid until 2024-11-17.
20% discount on a three-day ticket to DreamHack Stockholm. Discount code will be sent to members via email.
