The fall annual meeting has concluded!

On November 27, SöderS held its second annual meeting for 2025. Here is a summary of the decisions that the members voted on.

Even though the union hall can accommodate over 400 people, it almost felt like it was full. We filled the room with warmth, enthusiasm, and excitement for almost four hours – and SöderS is more than grateful for the incredible commitment that the union's members show time and time again.

A motion from Södertörns Förenade Ekonomer (SÖFRE) sparked an exciting debate between the motion's proponents, the SöderS board, and other meeting participants. You can read the motion, including the board's response in its entirety, here.

Motion presented by: Södertörns Förenade Ekonomer (SÖFRE) through Emily Eriksson and Mattias Dahlquist.

Motion
Revision of the action plan

The annual meeting votes on the motion.

Previous financial year

The main purpose of the autumn meeting is to allow members to review Söder's activities and finances. At the autumn annual meeting, the board reports on its work by presenting the annual report and financial statements for the past year to the members.

The business

The economy

The annual accounts for the 2024/25 financial year show a loss of SEK 396,629, which is a clear improvement compared with the previous year's loss of SEK 704,027. The improvement in results is mainly due to reduced costs for raw materials, external services, and personnel, even though total revenues are lower than in the previous year.

The largest cost items during the year were personnel costs and external costs, which continue to account for a significant portion of the union's expenses. The result for the year was also affected by depreciation, but no new write-downs of fixed or financial assets were made – unlike in 2023/24, when major write-downs weighed on the economy.

Membership income fell slightly and contributions increased only marginally, which means that the income side did not fully compensate for the remaining costs. However, the union's financial investments yielded a positive net result, which further mitigated the deficit.

Equity decreased during the year from SEK 3.78 million to SEK 3.36 million as a result of the negative result for the year and losses from previous years that were rebalancing. The union therefore remains stable, but needs to strengthen its income or reduce costs going forward to avoid further erosion of capital.

Exemption from liability

The Annual General Meeting decided, in line with the auditors' statements, to discharge the Board of Directors from liability for the 2024/25 financial year.
