Bright sun and hundreds of rainbows...

...it was on August 2nd when we, SöderS, Södertörn University, and several other student unions and universities in Stockholm gathered to celebrate love and human rights in the Stockholm Pride Parade 2025!

For several years, SöderS has been part of Academic Pride, which is a collaboration between several of Stockholm's universities and student unions. Institutions such as the Stockholm School of Economics, KI, KTH, Stockholm University and Södertörn University. The purpose of the collaboration is to highlight the importance of LGBTQIA+ issues at the universities, both in terms of research and teaching and in terms of inclusive work and study environments.

To highlight this a little extra, Academic Pride usually arranges a lecture in Pride House during Pride week, with a selected lecturer from one of the universities who has done a little extra for LGBTQIA+ issues and/or research. This year, researcher Rummage Isaac from the Red Cross University College had the honor of presenting his research on sexual and gender minorities based on the lived experiences of migrants in Sweden. For the parade itself, we had over 200 entries for Academic Pride's parade, and we are looking forward to doing this again next year together with you and other student unions and universities. Until then, we can look back through some pictures taken during the day!
