Opening hours and office availability
The office will be closed from June 20 to August 18.The premises will be locked until August 11. Associations and organizations that need to access the premises during this period should contact us in advance atinfo@soders.nu.
Please note that during the summer, we have longer response and processing times because our staff are on vacation.
On July 1, we welcome a new board, and in mid-July, we sadly say goodbye to SöderS legendOskar M Wiik, who is setting off on new adventures. We will also say goodbye to business developerMatilda Good, who has given us so much knowledge and expertise during the past academic year. Would you like to say goodbye in person? Send them an email while you still can, or stop by the office before June 20.

Unavailable staff should not mean that you, as a student, new or old, should feel lost. Below you will find answers to frequently asked questions during this period.
Can I join the student union now?
If you have accepted your admission to Södertörn University for the fall semester of 2025, you can register for membership for upcoming semesters starting July 1. Your membership will be activated when your study registration (study pace) reaches our system. You can also become a member on site during the first week of the semester. You can register for membershiphere!
What happens at the start of the semester?
The fall semester starts on September 1, 2025. The week will be filled with a festive ceremony, an introduction to the university's activities, and welcome activities organized by our associations. All information about the start of the semester will be published on the website in good time so that you have time to check out the program and plan ahead!
How do I join a student association?
SöderS has both education-oriented student associations and interest groups.Herewe have gathered all our fantastic associations, with information on how to follow their social channels and how to become a member!
I am a new student and would like an introduction to the university. How do I do that?
The week before the start of the semester, starting on Wednesday, August 27, Södertörn University and the student union are organizing aSneak Preview Week.During the day, you will be given a tour of the university and have the opportunity to meet various support functions, such as Funka, Study and Career Guidance – and us!

How do I get the Mecenat card?
The digital Mecenat card is automatically sent to registered students at Södertörn University two weeks after the start of the semester. If you want your Mecenat card earlier, you need to become a member of the student union. You will then receive the combined membership and Mecenat card immediately.
I have become a member and joined the SSSB housing queue, but my membership is not being updated.
During the summer holidays, synchronisation between our membership system and SSSB is limited. However, you can remain on the housing waiting list for 90 days without being a member, so you don't need to worry about losing your place.
After 90 days, you must have a registered study pace and an active membership. To sign a lease agreement with SSSB, you must be studying at least 50%.

I am applying for an exchange program and would like a certificate of my credits. How do I do this?
If you have been involved in the student union with a special assignment during your studies, you may be entitled to merit points that increase your chances of studying abroad. The last day to apply for merit points for the spring semester 2026 is July 18, 2025.

What should I do if I feel unfairly treated by a teacher or examiner?
If you feel that you have been treated unfairly by someone at the university, please contact our student and doctoral student ombudsman. Whether you feel that you have been unfairly assessed in an examination, treated badly, or have problems with your study and work environment, we will provide you with support and guidance.
